Upcoming Attraction - Junior Theater

Winter session 2009 will mark the 5th year of our youth theater program for students in grades 1st - 8th. Our class will begin early January and will run through late March. This class will meet and rehearse on Saturdays from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm and Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with some additional evening rehearsals as we get closer to performance dates. We will mount a full scale production and in the process of learning and rehearsing the show will also focus on some important drama concepts including: audition tips, effective use of voice, face and body in character impressions, hands-on strategies, exercises for character development, and effective pacing. We will also use this opportunity to familiarize students with basic stage areas, commonly used theater terminology, and concepts. In order to qualify for participation in this winter program , students must enroll in at least one of the courses in our current Fall Performing Arts Class Series , OR have been registered  in one of our dance or drama programs in the past year. Auditions for specific roles will take place once the class begins. See below for current class listings and watch for the winter program guide in December for further program details.
