"The Saline Community Education Before & After School Care Program is founded on the belief that children should enjoy their childhood in a safe and learning-rich environment before & after school. We believe that 'play' is essential in the development of a child's emotional, intellectual, social and physical development when combined with activities that bridge, engage and extend their prior knowledge while enhancing their basic life skills."
Our child care programs are operated by Saline Community Education and are located at 5 sites within the district: Houghton (K), Harvest (1st-4th), Pleasant Ridge (1st-4th), Woodland Meadows (1st-4th) and Heritage (5th-Age 14). All programs are licensed and offer families within the district quality care throughout the year.
Children will have the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate activities including: arts & crafts, large group/circle time, math & science, open choice time, quite reading/writing time, and recreational activities both indoors & outdoors. Snack is provided daily and is offered once in the morning and afternoon session.
Our programs are staffed with highly motivated individuals that have undergone thorough background checks, screening and CPR/First Aid Training. Each program has one 'head teacher/director' and teaching assistants that are in charge of the day-to-day activities and planning.
