The Saline Latchkey Program is operated by Saline Community Education and is located at five sites within the district: Houghton (K), Harvest (1-4), Pleasant Ridge (1-4), Woodland Meadows (1-4), and Heritage (5-8). All programs are licensed and offer families within the district quality care before and after school. Children will have the opportunity to engage in age-appropriate activities including: arts & crafts, large group/circle time, math & science, open choice time, quiet reading time and recreational activities both indoors and outdoors. Snack is provided daily and is offered once during the morning session and once in the afternoon.
Students enrolled in the latchkey program may be eligible for a 50% discount on Community Education Recreation and Enrichment Classes that coincide with his/her latchkey schedule. Refunds will be processed once the class has been completed. It is your responsibility to notify the community education office if your child is attending latchkey and may be eligible for the discount on the recreation and/or enrichment class.
2008-2009 before and after school care offerings are as follows:
Harvest Elementary: 6:45 a.m.- 8:45 a.m., 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Heritage: 6:30 a.m. – 7:50 a.m., 2:34 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Houghton: 6:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., 3:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Pleasant Ridge: 6:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., 3:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Woodland Meadows: 6:45 a.m. – 9:00 a.m., 3:45 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Houghton, Pleasant Ridge, Harvest, Woodland Meadows—Grades K-4
Registration Fee: $50 non-refundable (1st child), $35 non-refundable (each additional child)
Mornings Only (6:45-9:00 AM) $7.50 per day/$37.50 week
Afternoons Only (3:30-6:00 PM) $10 per day/$50 week
Mornings & Afternoons $17.50 per day/$87.50 week
Heritage- Grades 5+

Mornings Only (6:30-8:00 AM) $5 per day/$25 week
Afternoons Only (2:30-6:00 PM) $12.50 per day/$62.50 week
